I can't say too much about it, actually. It is legitimate, if a bit unethical. I work for a guy who deals in real estate but is not your typical realtor. It's a small group. What we do is look for people who have property but are in trouble (in arrears or default, up for foreclosure, that kind of thing) & will lose their property no matter which way they go. We then make them an offer: Sell your house/apartment/etc. to us. The smart ones are happy to sell, & we later re-sell the assets at a profit. It's my job to do the initial hunting. Once I find a good lead I pin him/her down to a date & time. After that, it's up to the head honcho to go see the owner & make the buy. When he does this, I get paid. Well.

The good part is for every sale I get paid well. The bad part is, sales are hard to find. I have to make a lot of calls before I find a lead & even then, it's no guarantee everything will fall into place. Right now I just get paid for every buy we make, but if nothing pans out in a few weeks then I will ask for a regular salary instead. A regular salary would mean the bonus per buy would be significantly less, but it would also mean less risk for me. I don't fear risk--not by a long shot --but I like to take considered risks, not reckless ones. Right now it's not reckless--yet.
